i dun really like the way they portray Sun Wukong and company in A Chinese Tall Story. How come got UFO one?! HKers have made funny parodies like Future Cops (Street Fighter parody), but the way they portray Chinese mythology is really wrong liao..
I am a rather traditional person and I rather things be the way they should be.
I rather HKers stick to making police and gangster movies..and the occasional 古代 shows..

they can mess up anything but please don't mess with historical facts and tradition leh..
facts are there for a purpose..tradition will be lost amongst our future generations if ppl keep messing up the details..

it is a tang dynasty classic. Wukong is supposed to be the Monkey God, not a superhero.

u just dun understand..the quality of HK theatrical releases is going down..very few HK movies are able to stand out..most of them are downgraded by bad plot and bad acting...and worse still the bad CGI which cannot compare with the likes of Tsuburaya's Ultraman: The Movie (2004), Toho's Godzilla Final Wars (2005) and Kazuaki Kiriya's CASSHERN (2004)..
The new generation of HK movies cannot stand up against the likes of great movies such as Infernal Affairs, PTU, Breaking News...etc.. I shall note down an example in the Twins Effect 2. This movie had no plot. Bad acting makes it even worse. On the contrary, Infernal Affairs' plot is really so intriguing that there are rumours of a Hollywood remake.
Visually stunning effects have never manifested themselves in HK films. I'm not going to stray too far towards the West and talk about Star Wars. Let's talk about CASSHERN, a dark and gritty art film made in 2004.
Breathtaking and visually aesthetic, it is hard to believe the effects in CASSHERN could be accomplished with just a small price tag of US$6million. With such little money the producers of CASSHERN could accomplish a nearly computer-generated world for the movie, so there is no excuse that HK producers can make for crappy computer graphics. It is either the animation talent is wasted, or there is no talent at all.
New generation HK moviemakers have a lot of learn from Japan. Ignore American movies. West is West. We Asians have our own style. Japanese movies have done the Asian film-making industry a service by being so widely popular amongst Westerners, a role-reversal in the same way people worship Western movies here, Japanese movies are being defined as THE Asian style over in the USA.

Wallace and Gromit is a very interesting movie indeed. Interesting use of stop motion which hasn't been seen much since Chicken Run. The penguins is it a separate feature or is it unified with the entire movie?
In other words I am trying to say, CGI-heavy HK movies should learn from Japan in terms of graphical quality. Compare some HK films to Japanese films lor. See the quality of the animation. Japanese ones are so much better.

hahah..even though its a nice show..you cannot let it dominate the entire HK media..or else people will get bored of it very quickly.
