Why everyone she say "bye" but to me she say "buy"...bias lor... Dunno if Cat can read this, but to destroy the O levels and grab your A's (which I failed to do so), is to know your stuff. Steadily and slowly understand the concept behind all that you are learning. Once you understand, you don't need to memorize. Good that you are starting now. Else you will have to resort to memorizing like me And I was too lazy to memorize so the A1s eluded me. Always keep a clear cool mind. I know it's easier said than done. So I introduce you to the steps to do it. Firstly, of course, be confident of what you learn. And the only way to do that is to understand the way things work. What you learnt must translate to you as information that should come to you naturally. So if you don't know why a certain formula is used in a certain type of equation, ask a teacher and find it out. What is the mechanism behind the formula that makes it a solution to a certain type of problems. Take the time to do so, it's better than those hard days of memorizing and forgetting and memorizing. Secondly, keep your focus. It's easy to lose it, and the only way to sustain it is interest. So seek out the interesting parts in your studies. Try, even if you think it's not possible to find studying interesting. The thing is not about studying is interesting, because it really depends on how you study that will make studying interesting or not. Thirdly, keep your cool. That can only be attained through confidence. Get the above two done, I'd be surprised if confidence is not etched in you

hmm, cause im like super lazy and mm, not hardworking, my tactic is work smart instead of working hard!=p i know tt sounds awfully wrong, but hey, i din flunk my Os can! I've gor A1s and 2s.
hmm, though, selective studying not encouraged, but im short of time(last year), so basically i jus flip through the books and go in depth with certain details.
However, subjects like sciences cant go last min, trust me. I screw up my bio cause I forgot all the things.
try to focus on 2-3 subjects in depth and make sure u can get As for them. Practise LOTS LOTS LOTS of maths. I jump from a F9 to a A2 in 1 week.
haha, humanities student, always focus ss and ur elective! for me, i focus on my Lit and combine humans and tatas! A1 and B3(abut sad for tt lah, din really study my hist).
A1 in Express Chinese should be easy to get, with tt, u safely secure one A, isnt it marvellous?
haha. Post O grad. talkng nonsense. but this def. not gg to work for A levels lah. Os is easy. I THINK.

Ok, my two cents regarding JC/Poly: 1. Environment difference JC - Typically more studious environment, lacks creativity, lacks vibrancy, lacks variety (I sae typically, my school was rather misfit into these adjectives) Poly - Typically freer schedule, focuses more on self-discipline, system creates initiative in students (Shirley can add on, pls add on) 2. Uniform difference (trivial) JC- Uniform Poly- Free and easy 3. Discipline JC- You are more sthingy-fed and pampered, and generally will lack initiative Poly- Better be strong on discipline, or at least cultivate it if you want to go Poly, because the system leaves you behind 4. Practicality JC- More academic, more like the path to Uni, just for acclimatization. Poly- More practical, with attachments and projects in your course syllabus usually 5. Prospects JC- Get into Uni. With only the A level cert, go be an admin asst your whole life. Poly- Almost as competitive as grads, perhaps more competitive By no means I would suggest one is greater than the other. You should choose what is more apt for your character. Well Shirley must be very smart Although I spent more than 1 week (maybe 3 or 4) on A Maths, it jumped from F9 to B3 only ha ha A level is better, no need study can score one (History, Chinese, English aka GP) but cos I not good foundation so I still don't score well (Economics, Maths) Maybe is the way they teach...
