The MDWAVforum's 3rd gathering
On sunday, 25/11/2007, a few of our forumers went for the gathering which Cathrine and I organised. It was a fun-filled (or maybe should I say food-filled) day when all of us gathered to have a B.B.Q. steamboat session and get to know each other better. The food there was great and this was the first time I saw Xiaowei and Joey in person.
Anyway, back to the main topic, I was the first person to reach there, followed by Jackson and the others. No doubt, it was kind of funny that we would to wait outside the passenger service counter (a.k.a. MRT station control room), especially when we do not know that we were standing next to each other. There was a moment of "stonning" when we all first met up, but after a while, we managed to kick off a conversation with me as THE TOPIC OF DISCUSSION (more like "suanning" if you would to ask me) and gel pretty well with each other.
After awhile, Hui Hui came and we were off to our main event. As we were walking there, they were still going at it, "suanning" me all over the place and putting me as their discussion topic. I was honored that they did so as it made me think that I was of an existent and not some passing wind which people would normally ignored. Despite being "suan" by them, we still have great time chatting, knowing that we might not have any chance to hold another gathering again.
Once we reached our destination, we found a table with two steamboat set. We had decided to settled down and head into the IMPORTANT part of this gathering, and I am pretty sure that you knew this "important part" - to eat. I am sure that everyone of you would not be interested in what we are eating, thus I shall head into what we DID while waiting for our food to be ready, and not to mention - the late arrival of our dear Keith.
If you would to ask me how was the B.B.Q. steamboat session, I could sum it up with a saying: A picture's worth a thousand words. WE really had an awesome time with each other and I really do hope that we will have gatherings like this in the future. However, in order to have more of this events coming up, we seek the participation of all forumers to keep alive our forum. Let me tell you guys something: "The forum is dead, but it's member are alive," and it is certainly a miracle that this forum manage to survive through these years of "death and slient". We even manage to grow in number with a few new addition like Xiaowei, Bee Ping (a.k.a. ping ping), Gareth and list goes on.
After the Gathering, Joey suggested that we should go somewhere else and continue our "meeting". Sadly, this was the time I exit the show, because I have some urgent matters to attend at my workplace. I believed they are enjoying themselves now, but you have to admit that I was indeed the "icon of the gathering". And so that was how I left.
In conclusion, I would say that it was an great outing and many of us really looked forward to having another gathering like this in the future. But there is one problem in our way, will the forum survive till then So, for the future of this forum and our friendship, please help to keep this forum alive, as many have treated this place as their online home.
We will see you in the future.
